At The Diamond Law Firm, we take pride in staying at the forefront of legal developments and contributing to the advancement of our profession. One of the most important ways we accomplish these goals is through our membership in the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law (RPPTL) Section of The Florida Bar. The attorneys of the Diamond Law Firm recently attended the Executive Council meeting in Amelia Island. Our attorneys enjoyed this time of learning, working, and networking with their colleagues and fellow Section members. About the RPPTL Section
RPPTL is the largest section of the Florida Bar with over 11,000 members. Attorneys who have an interest in real property, probate or trust law work together not only to deepen their own knowledge and skills in the practice area, but also to actively participate in the development of the law. The Executive Council of the RPPTL Section is made up of numerous committees, each focusing on a specific area related real property, probate, and trust law. The committees review and educate the attorneys of Florida on recent developments in the law of real property, probate, and trust law. The RPPTL Section identifies areas of the law needing improvement, and actively works to draft proposed legislation.
The Diamond Law Firm’s Participation in RPPTL
The Diamond Law Firm attorneys are active members of the Executive Council of the RPPTL Section. Sandra Diamond is a past Chair of the RPPTL Section, and has served on numerous committees including serving for four years as its legislation chair as well as a member of a special committee that drafted and proposed the current Florida Trust Code Chapter 736. Ben Diamond is a member of the Executive Council, serving currently as the Vice Chair of the Probate Law Committee and Co- Vice Chair of the Legislation Committee. Rachel Barlow is the Vice Co-Chair of the IRA, Employee Benefits, and Life Insurance Committee. Marguerite Mills is a member of the Section and is actively participating in several committees including the Probate Law Committee and Probate and Trust Litigation Committee.
The RPPTL Section is dedicated to shaping real property, probate, and trust law in Florida. Participation in this Section allows our attorneys to:
- Stay Ahead of Legal Developments: The RPPTL Section closely monitors legislative changes and case law developments, ensuring that attorneys remain well-informed about evolving legal standards.
- Engage in Thought Leadership: Through participation in committees, task forces, and executive leadership, our attorneys contribute to the drafting of proposed legislation, legal education, and best practices that impact the profession and the public.
- Advocate for Clients’ Interests: By helping shape laws and policies, we ensure that our clients’ interests are well-represented in legal reforms that affect property rights, estate planning, and fiduciary matters.
- Network with Legal Professionals: The RPPTL Section provides invaluable opportunities for collaboration with other leading attorneys, judges, and industry professionals throughout Florida.
